The government will present the GENESIS project this Friday in Madrid. In addition to the project itself, they will showcase its achievements to date in groundwater monitoring. After the presentation, there will be a tasting of wines and cheeses.
This week, we are honored by the Government of the Canary Islands, which has selected GENESIS project to be presented as part of the event “Engineering and Climate in the Canary Islands: Advanced Tools for Groundwater Management”. The Delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands in Madrid will present GENESIS to the public this Friday, 12 December, at 18:30h (CET).
The lecture will focus on Advanced Tools for Groundwater Management. In addition to introducing the GENESIS project itself, the audience will have the opportunity to hear about the progress made by the project’s demonstrators, their fieldwork experience, and the current challenges in water planning. Most importantly, attendees will be able to explore demonstrations of modern technologies and methodologies that enhance groundwater monitoring and management across the islands. Among the practical presentations is a 3D hydrogeological model of La Palma, a key tool for improving our understanding of groundwater systems and supporting effective management of this strategic resource.
Following the presentations, guests are invited to enjoy refreshments featuring a tasting of Canarian cheeses and wines. The event is limited to 25 participants, and seats cannot be reserved in advance. However, registration is required and can be completed through the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdYHtvf58zXo8pWRxxBMGMpl4kYpk1cbYSMTbMbiKRdAlo9NA/viewform

The event is organized with the support of Rosa María Aguilar Chinea, regional delegate of the Government of the Canary Islands in Madrid, and Juan Carlos Santamarta Cerezal, professor at the University of La Laguna.
